Bricolage

Questa serie è caratterizzata dalla proiezione, ottenendone così le impronte.

Compaiono, nella costruzione delle immagini, impronte di orologio da taschino, di garze, chiodini, stampelle metalliche nonché di radiografie ritagliate secondo le esigenze.

Quest’ultime, come in tutte le opere dei “Frammenti”, vengono applicate dopo un lavoro sottostante sfruttando la trasparenza e l’opacità. Nessuna traccia di pittura è presente sulla rx.

La maggior parte dei lavori è su carta, su cartoncino e doppio cartoncino. In queste ultime, per alcuni lavori, la parte tagliata è “riportata”  in modo da ottenere una nuova forma indipendente ed autonoma. Sono presenti alcune tele.

Il procedimento complessivo di costruzione permette di ottenere risultati imprevisti, aperti all’immaginazione e al linguaggio. L’aspetto mentale è fondamentale.

Il colore, di solito, puro, ha lo scopo di sorreggere l’immagine complessiva.

Abbozzate nel 2006/07 sono state riprese nel 2017 e continuano ancora, prendendo così vita.

This series is characterized by images obtained by projecting objects against a backdrop.

The images include the imprints of pocket watches, bandages, nails, metal hangers … as well as cut-up x-ray images.

In common with all the works in the “Fragments” series, the x-ray photos were worked on from behind before being affixed to the canvas, in order to exploit their properties of transparency and opacity to the full. There is no paint on the recto.

Most of these works are on paper, card or double-layer cardboard. In the case of some of those on cardboard, the cut-out part is “transferred” onto the picture surface, and takes on a new, independent and autonomous shape. Some works are also on canvas.

This procedure allows me to obtain unexpected results that are open to imagination and language. The mental aspect is fundamental.

Colours are usually applied in their pure state and have the task of supporting the image as a whole.

I sketched out some ideas for these works in 2006/07, resuming work on them from 2017 to the present, so they are very much of the moment.
